Overprotective. It was the one thing that he couldn't blame Miles' for. It didn't matter how bloody frustrating it was having to dance around it, he couldn't hold it against him. Merlin knew, he was the same way with Victoria. Heaven help any man who approached her without Adrian's approval. Their father didn't matter. Adrian's opinion did ... unless of course, you wanted to suddenly disappear. Then by all means, continue. Thankfully, it would be a little harder for Miles to make him disappear. Granted, he didn't think Miles would go that far, but best to cover all his bases.
When she offered him a chair, Adrian took it. He'd been walking around this bloody country for long enough. As he sat he watched her move around. She was comfortable in this environment and that made him smile. They did very similar things, he and Roslyn, though a lot of his involved less digging and more high society. Though, the odd time, he had to suck it up and get a little dirty. That was usually when he called Roslyn in. Any excuse would do.
When she asked him what they should toast to, he thought for a moment before a slow smirk spread across his face, "A common interest."
