Smiling up at her companion, Penny tilted her chin up towards him and laughed at the joke. Noah had finally had one of his submissions accepted to Arithmancer Weekly, something his mum was going to be ecstatic about and she was stoked on his behalf. The lunch they’d shared with some of their colleagues was sitting pleasantly in her stomach, a lingering reminder of the once a month meeting her department liked to have and now the crowd of Diagon Alley absorbed the pair and only added to her good mood.
It was chilly out, winter having enveloped the magical world firmly in its grasp and Penny reached up to tug her scarf a little tighter around her neck, dark brown gloved hands tucking a stray curl behind her ear as she leaned up to wrap her arms around her companion and give him a quick hug. “I’ll see you later.” A promise to meet up when Monday strolled around before turning and letting one of the store displays catch her attention. The books were piled up and she leaned a little closer, closer still before looking up. A familiar face caught her eye, the curve of Clints chin as it streaked over high cheekbones was unmistakeable and regardless of the location or anyone who might be watching, Penny found herself smiling back and lifting her hand to give him a small wave.
Merlin, he was gorgeous. For a moment, she simply admired him amongst the throng of people.
