Evy smiled happily as Lucas described to her his time at the Winter Festival. This was why she so enjoyed talking to him. She could see and experience things through him just for the simple fact that in a moment of childish excitement he told her more detail than any adult would have when describing the same experience. She could still picture Hogwarts from when she had taken her own trip across the lake with Hagrid. It had changed slightly after the rebuilding, but she remembered it as it had been. It wasn't at all difficult to add in some falling snow and all the things Lucas was describing.
"That sounds lovely!" she sighed. She had learned to accept her condition years ago, but it was times like these that she really wished she was like everyone else. She would have loved to watch Lucas marveling over the ice dragon or having fun on the rides. It was not to be, however, and she didn't hold onto the thought very long, letting it go almost as quickly as it had come. She was stopped from commenting by the arrival of the waitress.
Once everyone had ordered and the waitress had left them once again, she turned her head toward Miles, who had remained quiet during Lucas' explanation save a helpful reminder. "And what of you, Miles? Outside of a bout of cold and brittle bones," she teased lightly, "how have you been?"
