It had been a strange path to walk, getting to this point, she supposed. Evy, herself, had never really been super close with Carmina, having met her only her a few times during her time in Spain. Introducing her to other members of the family, particularly those closest to her in age, had been one of her Grandmother's attempt to draw Evy out of herself. It had worked, in a sense. Having returned to London, she hadn't lost her appreciation for family, which was aided along by having Lucas so close in proximity ... Miles too, for that matter.
She smiled brightly, returning Lucas hug happily. "Hi Lucas!" She smiled as Miles also greeted her, a light kiss to her cheek. It always amused her how quickly those who knew her asked after Bella when she was not in Evy's presence. The dog was a very important part of her life. "She's at home today. They don't like animals in the cafe, unfortunately, but I promised her I'd bring her home some pancakes. Heavy on the syrup, of course." Was she supposed to be feeding Bella pancakes, probably not, but she couldn't resist. She shared a lot of things with her four-legged friend.
"Oh, it wasn't a problem. I don't mind at all," she responded, directing her comment to Miles this time. As nervous as she got sometimes in his presence ( a reaction she still wasn't sure about ) she did enjoy his presence. Deciding that the topic was better directed away from her, she turned her head in the direction she'd last heard Lucas. "I hear you went to the Winter festival, Lucas. Was is pretty awesome? I heard there was a lot of really nice ice sculptures."
