Sighing with equal parts exhaustion and exasperation at his exhaustion, Theo let his head slip to the side to rest on Draco's shoulder, the other changed-boy's new girl-height making it feel awkward and uncomfortable only because it wasn't where Draco's shoulder normally was - then again, at 5'3" to Draco's 6'1" it was really more Draco's upper arm that he got to lay his head against those times that it happened.
He looked up as Pansy approached with those potion-glazed glass-doll eyes straining to be clear. He held still as she reached to touch him and after a minute leant into her hand, taking the chocolate and holding it in his lap where it melted against his fingers. He dragged up a smile just for Pansy, bouyed up by a sudden intense wave of affection for her. He usually only felt like that, felt anything strong that didn't tear him apart inside, when he looked at Draco when the blond was doing something like acting like the young man he was and lost the shadows behind his eyes.
He had trouble following the conversation about shopping but a little frown appeared before he spoke. "'d come w' you anyway." he said, his voice dropping out a couple of times which annoyed him. As far as he was concerned though, Pansy had more than good looks on her side.
He reached up for his own hair again with his clean fingers and dragged his fingertips through his hair, stopping when it got tangled and brought the movement up short. He tugged them free without care for the strands that broke and tore out and then rested his head back against Draco's shoulder. He felt grounded and, among all the uncertainty and confusion, actually secure by the small contact. He leaned back into the sofa when Draco relaxed back, tilting the other way a little and getting anchored against the cushion back.
He hummed a little sound-smile of agreement but it died when Draco brought up the others, when he didn't bring up all of them. He couldn't use the hand holding the chocolate, so he reached across with his other hand to take hold of Draco's to try and offer some comfort, absolution, something. He tightened his grip once and then let his hand rest back, reaching out to Pansy before aborting the motion. He still let it lie limp but open and palm up if she wanted to take it, some vague idea to connect them all in his head.
