She couldn't help but chuckle a bit at his frustration. Clearly someone was doing some last minute shopping for his mum. That seemed like such a man thing to do. She always ended up shopping for her parents early because she knew she could get to caught up in things and end up forgetting if she didn't. However it was slightly adorable watching him stress and try to explain himself to her. He could tell he was completely clueless and knew she had to help the poor bloke out.
"I'm sure your mother would just be content with knowing that her sons are happy, but that really isn't a birthday present now is it?" she smiled and looked up and down the road for some ideas. Mothers were all different but she was going to try and put herself in the other woman's shoes. She thought about his ideas and nodded, "Right let's head to Flourish and Blotts. Not only do I have to stop there for work but a bookshop can give you many ideas for presents." She smiled and waved, "Come along then."
She started walking to the store and figured she would ask more questions, "Does your mum like to cook because you could always get her a cookbook. Also there's biographies and non-fiction or perhaps she likes fiction. Even just looking at books could spark something inside of your brain for another gift. Maybe you could give her a picture frame with a picture of you and your brothers in it? That's always something nice." She continued talking without letting him get another word in, "Does you mother like to crochet or knit or anything? You could get her some new patters. Does she love to garden? I know the store has gotten some new books in about that field." Maybe he was going to regret asking her for help. She didn't want to overbear him. When they got to the store she looked up and blushed, "Sorry, too many questions right?"
