Kennie was struck with how formidable Marcus was in person. Not that he didn't look so from a distance and in pictures, but it was completely different when you actually experienced it. He had such a strong presence, and looked even more handsome now, up close. It was very disconcerting, with how lanky and slender Kennie was, not to mention with how dorky he also was. He felt largely inadequate.
But then he was smiling as the large, scary Quidditch player started talking about a stray cat. It was sweet, despite how gruffly the man said it. It seemed to make Marcus all the more human for his weakness of a stray. "Well, you are lucky, strays are largely self-sufficient creatures and competent hunters. He, or she, will be capable of feeding themselves, so you do not want to try and replace their feeding habits, just be a supplement option unless you plan on turning them into a kept pet. Otherwise... food is a good negotiation tool with strays. Shelter and food will always win even the most finicky feline over." He gave Marcus a grin.
Then he started to scan the shelves, an arm crossing at mid stomach, elbow of the other resting on it while long, elegant fingers cradled his chin. "Hmmm.... As for the food you would want... Strays can sometimes come across food they should not really eat, which will not provide the nutrition their bodies need, which is why a lot of then are too thin and not too lean, so one vitamin heavy, unless you want to hide vitamin capsules in some tuna..."
He moved from the larger bags to the smaller ones. "You will want to start buying small, as you may need to shift between blends and brands. Find the one that most agrees with the cat Their digestive systems are each different, so some cat food may not sit well with them." Reaching out, he plucked up a bag. It was mid-priced, but being a smaller bag, it wasn't over expensive. "I would recommend starting with this one. It is on the healthier end with less bi-product in it, but without the organic price tag."
