Demi narrowed her eyes slightly and gave her sister a sarcastic laugh. "Very funny, Lex." And then she rolled her eyes, popping the piece of muffin into her mouth before washign it down with her own coffee. She smiled and sighed, sitting back and she tucked her feet, ankles crossed, beneath her chair. Always, she and Lexi were a contract. Two different sides of the same coin in a lot of regards.
She then stuck her tongue out at her sister, uncaring of how ladylike it was. It was her sister, she was allowed to, public or not. "Fine, its a deal." She set Jewel down on her lap and began scratching behind her ears and smoothing a hand down her back. Animals could be so soothing sometimes.
"Just came across something interesting I thought the Institute might like to have. Had to get it back into the lab for proper testing." she said in her off-handed way. Nothing interesting there, move on. Except the look and slight quirk of one corner of her mouth would signal to Lexi that it was, indeed, interesting, but not to be talked about in public. "Is there anything you want to do today? Perhaps stop by Towler's and stock up on things Jewel will need? Or, you know, go visit mother..."
