Sydney had been working that evening as well. She hadn't closed, but her mind and her feet were restless. She'd gone home and showered as she hated how her skin felt after working at the bar. All the smoke and grime drove her nuts. Then she stuck in her ear buds and just went walking around town.
It was fairly late when she started feeling a little hungry and she really didn't want to go home and cook at this hour. The friendly sign of Mary Ann's was welcome and she pushed open the door. Looking around she spotted the dj from that evening, but she had a book and Syd didn't want to disturb her. She knew what it was like to want some alone time after being in the club all evening. Instead she sat up at the counter, flashing a bright smile at the waitress as she ordered a cup of decaf and began to peruse the menu. Breakfast or a basket of fried and greasy? Hmm...
