Spike, Dora
Spike scoffed and half-nodded. Whether they had someone who could steer the boat didn't seem important enough to warrant trashing the idea. Either they did or they didn't; eventually, someone would figure it out. At least they'd be free when dealing with the matter of steering. Now, they weren't any more or less free than before. They had changed hands, just like objects, and walked willingly into the path for another lab. Whipped rats running into the arms of a new master...
"Feels like we're stolen property," he said with a scowl. "I don't trust them, either." He would like to, but... He knew better. And the more he thought about the issue, the harder it became to accept at face value.
The trouble was that not only did Dora have a point, but they had to work quickly if this was going to happen. The sentimental ones were out, or so he assumed. And he couldn't see the younger ones wanting to destroy the chance that they could return to their families. But that had to leave at least a few people with weapons. If his impression of Jayne was anywhere near accurate, there was at least one person who would be willing to help. That alone would make it an even three-on-three match, unless there were other crew members hidden within the boat.
"News travels fast in closed quarters," he advised. "Once the plan is out, we have to get moving. Even if there are three of them, they know this ship better than we do." He thought for a moment, then gestured vaguely toward the doorway. "Never seen a coup without division among ranks. It's possible our biggest problem would be angry, homesick rats."
He supposed that was just part of the plan, an inherent risk of upturning the supposedly-false hope. Maybe he didn't even blame anyone who would hate them for doing this. Then again, who said it had to work that way? With the right leverage - the right weapons and enough support - they could take control of the crew without killing all of them. Maybe just one for the sake proving they were a serious threat.
"Unless there's a way to... ensure they don't try to keep anyone. Pull the strings ourselves, for a change..."
