Spike, Dora
"Not yet," he said honestly, offering the sort of glance which suggested he didn't think she believed, either.
When it came down to it, Spike would only fully believe when he awoke on the Bebop, sprawled across the yellow sofa. If he even chose to go that route... It wasn't as if bounty hunting sounded like the most appealing life to return to after becoming so re-acquainted with his darker side. He'd learned in his time as a captive that he still craved blood. The beast was merely leashed within, not dead. Never bled away.
And he had grown close to someone who understood, someone who fought the same battle - albeit to a different degree - within her own mind. Not to mention the woman before him right now, the friend who made no attempts to turn him into the docile creature he could never be. Sure, she was the one to teach him that sometimes it was best to play the role of the whipped rat; but she had never expected him to really be one. There was a certain difficulty to choosing a life without either of them. If escape was anything more than a clever trick.
"A coup?" Spike's eyes turned to Iridia as his expression shifted into a dark smirk. "Smart cat."
He wasn't quite sure if the word fit any better than 'mutiny,' but it was the most familiar term and far from the point. No, he saw the suggestion of an uprising as the main point.
Was it plausible? He couldn't be certain, but thought that the odds would be decent if enough people realized how suspicious the situation was. He wasn't the only one with access to a loaded gun, after all. But... There was also the possibility of interference from those who took the convenient rescue at face value.
Did it really matter? Was he honestly interested in Iridia's idea for any reason beyond taking the first bit of control available since his capture?
"What's to lose?" he asked. Only then did he push himself from the doorway and act upon her invitation to enter. "We should listen to him..." His eyebrows arched and he looked to Dora with a meaningful glance. "Could be our last chance to work together."
