AU - The world is on fire
The bombs started to fall on the twenty eighth of November, Stephie could hear them, distantly, in the night.

They'd been talking about this on the news for weeks; the threats kept rolling in, the world arming up. Stephie had heard about it but the threat of Dead Meat taking another shot at the hospital felt far more targeted at her and so, far more real.

This couldn't be real. Actual other humans bombing... actual other humans. Never mind that the news of demons and angels confirmed in London had started a vicious debate about what did human mean, anyway - and last weeks demonic suicide-bomber-who-didn't-die hadn't helped anyone's cause but his own; he wanted a war.
