Someone else, hearing of a person (and a Binky, dear heaven) passing through a wall and ending up in an entirely different location, might have brushed the idea off as absurd. For River, it filled her with excitement. Her heartbeat sped up just a bit as she considered the implications.
She had no reason to doubt Bill Door, as he introduced himself, and she had seen far too much in her own lifetime to dismiss it without further exploration. When he spoke of the landmarks, she decided they were worth ignoring. If what he said was true, they weren't anywhere nearby, as Bill was not from this island. At least not as it was now. It was even possible he wasn't from this world. Or this time.
River still had her scanner in her hand, and while he had been talking she continued to play with it. He might think she was looking for information about the island, as she had mentioned it, but what she was really scanning was Bill Door. Except it gave her no conclusive information; in fact, it was insisting there was no living lifeform in front of her. Obviously malfunctioning. When she had a minute she would have to remember to take the screwdriver to it to repair it.
"He'd better, if he knows what's good for him." She mumbled under her breath. The fact that the Doctor wasn't here yet was a bit perturbing.
"So you just arrived here. One place one minute, then here the next, is that right?" Much like herself, but the similarity of their situations had not quite registered yet.
"Tell me, were you by any chance next to a statue at the time? One resembling an angel?"
