Well, since you are on an island, I don't think you can be all that lost.
That was what River was going to say, until he asked about curry. A curious question. Had he never come to the resort town before? She had looked at the map, and while the island was quite sizable, it wouldn't be all that far for a man and a horse to travel on occasion from wherever he might reside.
"From the literature I found in my room, this is Paradise Resort. Which I guess encompasses the entire town. Sort of. But I'm sorry, I don't know of a Thai place. As I said, I'm not from around here."
River looked at the man curiously. "Did you by any chance fall asleep on your horse that it went off its usual path?" She had some experience with horses, but had never let one roam where it would while astride it.
"I'm River Song, by the way. I'm expecting someone who might be able to get you back to where you belong. I have a scanner..." She reached into her pocket and pulled it out to demonstrate, "...but I'm afraid it's not been programmed for this island."
"What kind of landmarks are where you live? Are you close to the volcano?" River had read about it in one of the pamphlets. Fortunately, it was apparently a long dormant volcano. Pity she wouldn't be here long enough to go exploring.
It was a good thing he was pretty. He'd never get far with brains like that.
