In response, Yu quickly bowed as well. To think, he was beginning to forget his manners. His mother surely would've scolded him (assuming she'd be home for once.) Of course, his bow lacked any such flourishes and loftiness - it was a mere formality.
The tricky part, at least for Yu, was figuring out which words were merely conventional. And which ones the man actually meant, at least in a contemporary sense. English, why did it have to be so complicated? Then again, the same held true for many languages as they evolved through time.
"It is very nice to meet you-- ... Merukushiyo," he sounded out with a quizzical look upon his face.
"I..." He held back a laugh, a smile gracing his features. It was, for lack of a better word, amusing to hear someone speaking like such. The rest of the English-speakers would certainly think him silly if he began to adopt this Mercutio's speech patterns. "I came whence from Japan...?" Using words he didn't quite know probably wasn't the best of ideas, but how else was he supposed to practice?
