Mike had warned him a little about Sherlock after the other man had departed, so he could easily imagine that Holmes was a difficult man to talk to. The detective had spoken quite a bit during their brief encounter, but it hadn't been very conversational and it had all been distinctly uncomfortable. How could a person possibly know that much about someone he'd just met? Mike swore he hadn't warned Sherlock they were coming.
"I've always liked London," John commented, glad to let him change the subject. Even if they weren't in London anymore. "I'm not sure I'll be staying unless I find some way to afford it..." He trailed off, realizing that apparently he could afford it, since he stuck around long enough for Jim to get to know him. "Well, I suppose I must. So I wasn't sure if I'd be staying for a little while."
