He'd stunned her. But yeah, he had that effect on people. He just kept up the smile and waited for her to adjust to the situation. Which she seemed to, eventually, though he did wonder if she just caught herself and covered it better. He was probably still shocking her. He glanced down at what he was wearing, and shrugged. Oh well, nothing he could do about it now. Besides, he thought he looked good in this.
It took him a moment to process what she'd said - sort of the same reaction he had when someone spoke a language he was familiar with but didn't converse in regularly - but understood what she was saying well enough. But he'd already figured that - he didn't want to know about where he was, he wanted to know about her situation to see if there was anything that he could find that would support a pattern in the abduction.
And then she asked that exact question. He grinned a bit, rubbing the back of his head. Well all right - he could answer her questions first.
"Probably a bit further ahead than you'd expect, in terms of dates," he said. Then he shook his head. "But no - not England. Born and raised in Iowa. Er. America?" he tried, wondering if that would make more sense to her. "And I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that you have no idea what I'm talking about when I say 'Starfleet'?"
