He sighed a bit, rolling his eyes when she said that women from her time were only really valued in terms of their marrying and financial situations. He knew that, on some level - he had at least taken history - but to hear it actually confirmed? That was borderline depressing.
"That's a shame," he said. "Smart pretty girls like you aren't really a dime a dozen where I'm from." Well, okay, sometimes they were - he was attending Starfleet, after all, and women who were drawn to that line of work tended to be intelligent and badass, but not soft like she was striking him to be. So it wasn't completely a lie.
He chuckled when she mentioned that she'd be okay with letting him shout at nothing, but opted against it for now. He growl at them through the walls of his house later and see what kind of results he could manage before he started to feel silly doing it. When she mentioned he'd seen more of the town than she had, he shook his head a bit - he didn't think he had - but offered her his arm in a gracious manner all the same, in case she was inclined to take it.
