Elizabeth jumped a little bit at Kirk's 'pretty girls' comment. Not something you would usually tell a lady in 1811...but, what she had to remember was that she was no longer in 1811 and she was no longer in the company of the same type of people. Perhaps comments such as this were not so improper in his time. "You are too kind, Mr. Kirk."
When he offered her his arm, she held back for a moment, but after a short consideration took it in her own. Elizabeth smiled. "Lead the way."
