He wasn't sure which was worse. The day of or the day after. The truth was that it was all worse. Most days it was easy to not remember that a part of him was missing - had been missing for a long time. He had found other ways to fill some of those voids, but it was never quite the same. Katie was a good distraction last night with the offer of drinks and really the excuse to get out of the house because he couldn't look at Angelina right now. He knew she was in bit of a mood because of everything that was happening with the Magpies and maybe he should be there for her, but he felt no obligation to do so. There was no ring on his finger, so he didn't need to be the dutiful husband, he could just be the average boyfriend - even if it hadn't been so simple in a while. By the time he was heading home last night, he was too drunk and too tired to deal with slipping back in the house. So, he detoured around to the backyard with plans to spend the night in the moon. If Roxie and her friends could spend the night out there, surely he couldn't handle a night out bad too. The problem with that was waking up with a blaring headache when the sun rose high enough in the sky for him to ignore anymore. Groaning, he rolled out to peer out at the back of the house, wondering just who was up and what he was going to face if he went in there right now. |
