Angelina's thoughts on Valentine's Day were pretty simple. She didn't see the point of it. Or, she could see the point, maybe. A little. But she just didn't want to celebrate it. She wasn't the "flowers and a box of chocolates" sort of girl, and those sort of situations made her more than a little uncomfortable. And maybe even a bit panicky, because what the hell do you do in a situation like that anyway? And, maybe, there was a part of her that worried that if she and George ever really did anything special, he might propose again or something. And what if she accidentally said yes? The obvious answer would definitely be that then she'd get married, but... well, she kept saying no for a reason. Deep down. But if she was lucky in one thing, it was in the fact that she was pretty sure George wasn't the do something romantic sort. It helped her not have to be suspicious every time February fourteenth rolled around, really. And tonight wasn't very much different from other years in that she and George weren't doing anything special at all, but there was a certain sort of enjoyment that came even in teasing your eight-year-old daughter about her valentines. A task to which Angelina had quickly taken to even as she gave in and ate a love heart that read It's Love -- right up until Roxanne decided she'd had enough and left the room. This was pretty much as good as Valentine's Day could get, in her opinion. "If we're really going to have this bet," Angelina started, sitting up on the couch and she looking over at George, an eyebrow slightly raised, "there needs to be something to win. Something good." |
