Penelope returned her husband's kiss and shifted in her seat so that she was tucked into his side, resting her cheek on his shoulder as he rubbed the baby blanket on her lap. "Good, I'm glad," she said. She fingered the corner of the blanket where there was a loose thread, the first sign that it was well-loved and beginning to unravel. "What did the reserves do that they deserved to be nearly killed?"
She knew how serious Oliver took practices, even when they didn't have a match coming up. The fact that there was an unofficial League Cup to win now meant that practices would be just as important as they were before an official match. She'd seen people repeatedly raise their eyebrows and shake their heads at his intense approach to leading his team, but she had always loved his passion for the sport. Like her husband, Penelope is driven and passionate about everything she does. That trait was one of the many things that attracted her to him.
"My day was busy, but it was good," she said, her fingers tightening on the corner of the blanket on her lap. After Christopher was born, she and Oliver hadn't really talked much about having another baby. Penelope was happy with their life and she felt content with the two kids they had. It wasn't until Healer Gibbons told her that she was pregnant this morning that it hit her. Charlotte and Christopher were growing up so fast and she wasn't ready to let them go yet. Sure, they were only six and five years old now, but it wouldn't be much longer before they'd leave for Hogwarts and the house would start feeling empty. It made her realize how happy she'd be having another little one running around the house.
"Breakfast was a little rough, but I'm feeling okay now," she said, responding to him asking if she was feeling any better. In fact, she was feeling pretty wonderful at that very moment. Turning slightly in her seat, she faced Oliver and said, "I actually have some news..." Unable to suppress the smile that tugged on the corners of her mouth, Penelope put a hand on his thigh and told him, "You're going to be a father. Again."
