WHO Roger & Cho Davies. WHERE & WHEN Their house, after the kids are asleep. WHAT Talking about life & plans. RATING/WARNINGS Highish? It's these two./Complete.
One thing Cho loved as one of the most important things in her life was her job at MLE. It had really had a huge part in her being able to rebound from all the things life had thrown her way up until that point. And it had never really been something she ever saw herself not doing every single day. But she'd had to admit that she felt guilt for being around as much for her kids as her mother had been for her. Up until she'd been within a year of going to Hogwarts, her mother had always been around the house somewhere, taking her out to lunch while her father was at work, or teaching her various crafts, bits at a time of the Chinese language -- all those sorts of little things that created the memories she always looked back upon so fondly. Cho had never really thought of how much her mother must have given up in order to make sure she had a great childhood. Except now she was faced with the same decision.
Which is why she had asked Roger if they could talk about something after the kids were asleep for the night. It was a big decision about which she still wasn't sure, even though she'd thought about it a lot over the past few days. Cho had been thinking about maybe just working on-call, scheduled a few days a week, so that she could try to have a more even balance in her life. After all, they couldn't keep asking their parents to babysit on the days they both worked, and day-care was expensive. That was one part where she felt the Muggles really did have it right - starting kids in school early and keeping them busy and learning for most of the day.
Wanting to be outside, Cho sat down on the chairs on the deck and leaned back, gazing out at the hedges and bushes that gave their outside area a wonderful amount of privacy. Before she talked to her boss about anything, she wanted to know what Roger thought of the idea.
