Characters: George Weasley & Ginny Potter
Setting: Potter residence, Monday evening
Rating: PG-13
Summary: George and Roxie need a place to sleep tonight that isn't their house because George can't be around Angelina right now.
And to imagine, he didn't think that it could worse than what it had already been. Funny how the universe really delighted in proving him wrong. The fight with Angelina Saturday morning had turned nasty pretty quickly and when she didn't come home after the loss, he really hadn't expected anything better. Old habits didn't go away just because you were grown up and they had both clung pretty hard to alcohol in the immediate aftermath of the final battle. Regardless of the reason behind it, he didn't want to be around Angelina and he certainly wasn't going to leave Roxie with her if she was drunk. The kid was going to be messed up enough with them for parents, he didn't really need to make that worse. So, he had been home on Monday night for all of twenty minutes. During that time he packed he and Roxie overnight bags and weighed the pros and cons of imposing on each of his siblings. (Sure, mum was an option, but that could also bring him more trouble than he needed just yet.) In the end Ginny beat Ron only be a factor of Harry being out of the country and no ever judging Hermione to ... well, judge him. Not that Ginny wouldn't do that as well, but she was his little sister. He had shown up out of the blue, tired looking but grateful she took pity on him and allowed him to use the excuse to explain after the kids had gone to bed for the night. And that excuse held up for a little while. Now, all of the children were in their beds, hopefully asleep, which left the two adults in the kitchen. Unwilling to sit down, George leaned against the counter not sure if had to start this off or if she would prompt him. He almost wished she would take the lead, just because he wasn't entirely sure where to start on his most recent fight with Angelina. |
