Lorcan pondered looking like a mandrake for a long moment, before nodding in agreement. "Though I have to say being able to cure petrification would definitely be an upside." He laughed quietly to himself.
It was very true, Lorcan had grown accustomed to sacrificing his self-esteem for friendship, but with Hugo it was all good-natured so Lorcan merely cocked an eyebrow at his friend, as if to suggest what Hugo had been thinking not too long ago - How might it growl without a mouth?
"Well. Do you know how to train it?" Lorcan leaned his weight onto one leg as he leered inside the bag. He felt oddly as if something might jump out and bite him. For a moment he wished Lysander was about to consult with, but such was not the case and he leaned back abruptly. "It needs a leash." His decision was final, and he fetched a knife from the table without another word to or from Hugo, and wandering over to a viney looking plant, leaned over so far he nearly fell in.
"This needed to be pruned - a little bit won't be missed," he assured himself, his voice muffled as the vines moved and encircled him. At last he appeared again, shook out his hair and produced a long, rope-like vine. You can tie this around it. And if you roll the vine in your hands, it extends and becomes stronger." He demonstrated and then extended it to Hugo.
