She kept her eyes down while he spoke, and Freddie could not be sure of her reaction. The tension between them was so thick it was nearly solid. It was certainly doing a good job of keeping them physically apart. He was relieved when she changed the subject-- it seemed natural rather than an interruption-- they had gone as far as they could on the subject of their future. It didn't feel right to talk about it any further. They weren't even 'together', for merlin's sake.
"What've you got?" Freddie asked curiously, glancing her up and down quickly to check for any bulges in her pockets. "Is it good?" Finding himself rather excited, he walked around and met her at the little half-door which granted access to the till area. "Go on then," he grinned.
