"If only it was as easy as doing what was right for you, you know?" Isabella thought about it for a moment. "Temptation is a very strong tide sometimes. Sometimes it works out sometimes it does, you know?" Bella sighed softly. "It's like having a major crush on the person that sits next to you even though you know they're not right for you. It does not mean you can just stop liking them or wanting them just because you know it's wrong. Sometimes you have to take that leap despite all logic because sometimes the only way you get over it. I'm sure you've done that before?" Bella could surely think of a few examples from her own life. A few of them quite recently.
While she listened to her friend talk, Bella busied herself with looking over the menu again even though she was already decided on what she was going to eat. She wanted a moment to think over her response. It was true she did not press as much as she probably could with some things, but sometimes if you pressed too hard things broke. They talked about a lot more things than she did with the majority of the others she knew, but she could understand where the girl was coming from. She was not guiltless in the matter.
"Is there something you want to talk about? I promise I am a good listener..." It seemed to her that there was some issue or something Caroline had wished she had pressed harder on. Something she wanted her to ask so she could talk further on a topic and Bella had missed the cue. It took her a full moment to realize the rudeness of her statement. "Oh, sorry that was quite rude of me." She looked back at the menu to hide her embarrassment. "You really don't think we do that?"
"It wouldn't upset me." She reached for her water and sipped it for a moment. It didn't really bother her when people asked personal questions. It was not sure style to hide her thoughts or feelings in most cases. The only time she was really shy was when she met people for the first time or around boys she liked. "Why would it bother me if you asked about me sleeping over at Albus'? Or anything else for that matter?" Bella shrugged. Not too many things bothered her. "Friends are supposed to be able to talk about whatever is on their mind." Now if she had been having that conversation with her parents it might have upset her a little bit.
