Evangeline had escaped with house without much theatrics. She'd been expecting a grilling on where she was going, with whom, what they planned on doing, and so on... but, her mother had merely glanced up from the Daily Prophet and asked Evangeline to stop by the Apothecary for a few empty vials for they were running low at home.
She used the Floo to get to Diagon Alley, something she hated, because no matter what she did... her clothes always ended up a bit sooty. Evangeline sighed, taking a minute to wipe the soot off of her forest green skirt, regretting that she was not allowed to use magic outside of school. She, too, was wearing one of her Christmas outfits: a knee-length forest green skirt, forest green traveling cloak with the Yaxley crest pinned on it, and a white turtleneck shirt... She'd put her own hair into a quick high ponytail before leaving the house.
Her shoes clicking against the pavement, she hurried toward Gringotts. Freeing herself from the soot took a bit more time than she'd imagined and Evangeline did not like being late. She saw Caroline sitting at the stairs and felt a little guilty, hoping she hadn't been here waiting too long.
"Caroline, hi," Evangeline said as she approached her. "How are you? I hope you've not been waiting too long for me."
