Order Meeting. Who: Harry, Ron, Hermione, All Order Members + Alumni that are for the Order. Where: Potter house. Rating: PG-13? Summary: Harry calls everyone together after the Prophet article goes out.
Harry didn't like where this was going.
He slammed down the Prophet after reading the article for the sixth time. It wasn't that it was new to him, he'd heard this while they arrested Dimitrov, but it didn't make it any less sickening... and he couldn't figure out why it was that the Knights wanted information on him and his family. It infuriated him. He'd spent his childhood being a wanted man and getting his friends into trouble and certainly did not want this continuing into his adulthood.
"Ginny. I'm calling an Order meeting," he said, glancing up at his wife who was furiously cleaning a pot the muggle way. She'd recovered well after the attack, but Harry had made her promise not to leave the house without protection. Ginny hadn't like that, of course, and now that someone had died because of them... Ginny was having a silent fit. Ginny wanted answers, she wanted to help, she wanted to know what was going on. She'd wanted to apparate to Hogwarts just so she could give her children, nieces, and nephews a hug and make sure they were handling everything okay. Harry had told her no. They'd all be home for Christmas soon enough.
She merely glanced at him and nodded her head, and then turned and stalked out of the room. Harry knew it was to go alert Ron and Hermione.
He sighed, glancing down at the article again. He'd known January, vaguely at least. She'd been at Rosie's birthday parties the last few years and Albus seemed to be friendly with her as well, same with Lucy and Louis. He hadn't known that her and James were an item and was somewhat surprised at that, but didn't pay much mind to it. He was more concerned that her father had been killed because she was friends with this family. It was disgusting.
"Ron and Hermione are on their way. Hermione's sending out a message via the coins right now," Ginny came back into the kitchen and began scrubbing at the pot again for a moment before throwing the sponge back into the sink and mumbling something about needing to freshen up.
"Brilliant, I was about to do the same," Harry said, reaching into his pocket and feeling the familiar gold coin he'd kept since his fifth year at Hogwarts.
The sound of coughing and footsteps alerted Harry that his two best friends had arrived. He could hear Ron muttering in a low voice as he and Hermione wandered into the kitchen.
"Everyone's been alerted," Hermione told him as she sat down beside him, Ron joined them. Ginny came traipsing down the stairs a few seconds later, changed into a pair of muggle jeans and a jumper, with her red hair pulled back.
"They should be here soon, then?" Harry said and nodded his head when Hermione nodded hers.
"This is sake, mate," Ron frowned. "Really sick. Poor January, she was always a nice girl. I can't believe her father would die just for a bit of information."
"I know. It's horrible," Hermione said with a sigh. "Rosie must be losing it. Her best friend is taken out of school and her boyfriend's about to be recruited by these Knights. I should have Owled her. I feel dreadful not."
"I'm worried about Al and Lily, too," Ginny added. "I don't know how they feel about all of this. Same with the others. If James shows up, I'm going see if he's talked to any of the kids still at Hogwarts, if he knows how they are doing."
More sounds of footsteps and coughing sounded from the living room as more of the Order dropped in. Bill and Fleur came wandered in, Fleur carrying a large tray of cookies. Shortly after that, Percy came by, having taken the day off of work. Hestia Jones-Shacklebolt followed after Percy, promising to relay any messages to her husband who was too busy dealing as Minister for Magic to take the time off to go to their impromptu meeting.
Harry gave a small smile. It was nice to know that there were still people willing to fight for good, even after all of these years. He leaned back and waited for more to arrive.
