Who: Zachary Smith, Lily Potter When/Where: Evening, Court yard Rating: PG Summary: Zachary is trying to relax and unwind before the big quidditch match tomorrow. In order to do that he goes outside seeking some piece and quiet when he runs into Lily, who was on her way inside.
Zachary zipped up his hoodie, opting to leave the hood down despite the brisk autumn air, as he walked outside. Inside the castle walls he felt as if the atmosphere was a live wire. The air was so thick you could cut it with a knife. Part of it could be blamed on that Scandalwitch, whoever it was. It had made things unbearable at times. Now, he wanted to go outside and just escape.
The only thing on his mind was quidditch. Lately, it seemed that all they did was practice. Louis was very enthusiastic, to say the least, about maintaining a strict practice schedule. It was not that Zach minded, he loved sports, but he wanted to feel like he had a life outside quidditch. Most of his time had been spent around his teammates. It left him wanting to have a conversation with someone else. Despite the fact he found all his teammates perfectly friendly.
His attention was brought back to what he was doing as he accidentally walked into someone in the court yard. "Oh, I'm sorry." Zachary said quickly as he looked to see who he had walked into. Lily Potter. That's who he had walked into while he was lost in his daze. Smooth Zach.. He told himself.
"I really should pay more attention." He told her as he gently gripped her upper arm in an attempt to steady her. The last thing he wanted was for her to fall. It was a little slippery outside due to the latest snow fall. "Forgive me?" He asked her as he flashed her a warm smile.
Of course he was aware of her reputation of being a bit crass, but he did not set much by it. It was not in his nature to judge someone by what other people said. After all, she was quite lovely. Perhaps, other people had done something to deserve her response. Or maybe not, but he wouldn't hold it against her. Even people with a temperamental disposition deserved a chance and kindness.
