Quincy gussied himself up in the mirror before heading off to retrieve his favorite girl. The hike was a familiar one and he greeted paintings on his way. He was mentally preparing himself for the riddle which which would separate him and Aurora, but when he arrived she was waiting outside. With a kiss, Quincy grabbed her hand and walked her down to the kitchens and promptly let them both in.
"You look nice," he said casually, and pulled out two seats for them as the house elves ran around wildly with the company. He patted a small one on the head and leaned down and whispered something to it. It fumbled away and lead a pack with it. "Sit down," Quincy prompted with a gigantic smile. He had a hand outstretched for what appeared to be no reason, but when it was soon filled with an eclair the point became apparent. He took a small, dainty bite before offering some to Aurora.
She had seem rather excited for her surprise, but he was going to make her sweat. "Everything with everyone is such a mess," he said softly, "I'm glad I've got you to ground me, dear." He tucked a piece of her hair behind her ear affectionately, and smoothed his trousers over his leg. After a long moment of silence where he stared at his leg for a while, he looked up and said with a completely stern face, "I still can't believe you went as a pumpkin." He tried to keep from smiling, but his face contorted into a strangled look and at last he burst into laughter.
