It was a short monologue, but it was packed full of things for Corrie to get more annoyed about: Lorcan was still talking in exactly the same way as before, all questions; he sounded uncertain, like he always seemed to be about everything; he was getting distracted by his own thoughts and rambling on subjects that no one cared about; he was using the calm voice he'd used with her when trying to soothe her and get her to see reason, and what was most annoying, it had worked for a second, just like it had back then. Had he changed at all in the last five years aside from growing a beard?
Well, Corrie had, and she could calm herself, thank you very much. She took a deep breath, counted to five (because she didn't need ten), and thought to herself, 'You are a beloved, friendly icon of good times and great Quidditch, you are not a prehistoric carnivore.'
Then she raised her arms and waved them dismissively in a 'Worried? Who was worried? I wasn't worried' sort of gesture, then pointed at Lorcan and clapped "her" hands to "her" cheeks and shook her head in an attempt to show his alarm when he'd seen the kite falling.
