Lorcan gave the lion a startled glance -- it was growling. "I really am sorry?" he said, not making any excuses, although he was pretty sure that the kite wouldn't have hit the lion even without the swerve.
"It shouldn't have done that?" he continued in a soothing voice, as if he were talking to a real lion that might respond to tone rather than words. "I guess the wing connection might not be strong enough, but I thought--"
