Re: Open!
Albus wasn't technically going to come to the festival but being off of work and laying in bed, watching as the ceiling fan spun around... it really had an effect on what your daily plans should be.
So he got up and got dressed, something he was probably going to regret due to the time of year it was but oh well, it would serve as an excuse for an early departure if he ended up wanting to leave early.
So with outfit in check and wallet in hand, or pocket... attached to a chain which was attached to his pants, you never could be too careful you know, he apparated from his flat to the festivities and began the walk.
He stopped at a few booths to look at their goods. Purchased some fries and a raspberry slushy for his lunch. Nodded at a few passing people that he knew who waved at him. He wasn't really in the mood to find a group and stick to it for the simple fact he liked doing what he wanted to and when he wanted to do it, he didn't really care to compromise.
He continued walking, doing nothing in particular. Just stopping at what interested him but what ended up catching his attention was a bunch of cheers and... roars... female roars. Well that was interesting wasn't it? Something every bloke had to go and see. So... Albus followed the commotion and he had to admit, what he saw was pretty amusing.
He didn't approach the front or join in with the roaring or exercising activities but he did stand in the back with an amused look over his face, watching as the kids played a game of follow the leader with the character before them, while others tried to get its attention and a couple of others wanted to run up and grab the tail, doing really no harm since they were knee high to a piss ant but they had to be annoying none the less.
But as he was about to walk off something did catch his eye. Two older males, younger than him but they seemed to have no reason to be involved in something like this. They had no kids, neither looked interested in joining the activities or getting a picture taken. Albus eyed them as he took the last sip of his slushy and tossed it aside into a nearby trash can and slowly took some steps toward the couple, but behind.
From what he could hear, they were up to nothing sinister. They were mocking the mascot which he couldn't blame them. It was quite ridiculous but then again, he felt bad for the people having to actually take the job. But then there it was, it was very weird how when something was said and automatically every bit of surrounding noise no longer existed, only what you were concentrating on.
"So I'm going to run up, right? Push it down and rip off the head. It'll be bloody brilliant. Watch all the kiddies cry."
"Or better yet they'll feel cheated and go on a rampage to know it's actually a person beneath." The second teen said to the perpetrator.
Albus suddenly became interested in staying a bit longer just to see how these two geniuses planned to go about doing this. They continued talking amongst themselves and Al slipped away to move around unnoticed, around the small crowd.
He stood out of the way for a few long moments, it seemed they had chickened out. It didn't surprise him. They were teens. They were guys. They were teen guys. Mainly all talk with nothing to back it up. But wait, one rounded the crowd and as another crane pose came, he took off running and Albus was quick to move, his leg out and tripped the guy. All the kids? Started laughing at the boy who fell face first into the ground.
"Alright?" Albus asked. "That's why it is important for people not to run, it can be very dangerous." Albus shot a quick glare at the bloke on the ground and watched as he got up, dusting himself off, returning the same glare back at Albus. His response to that? Just a smile.
...What was that beep?
Albus turned to the colorful lion.
"I think you're about done, Chuck Norris." Albus commented with a laugh, hey he thought he was a VERY funny guy. Didn't matter what others thought. "Unless you want to roast in your skin some more and get bullied by teenagers some more then?"
