"That's good, because Min would be disappointed if you didn't come see her," Lorcan said lightly, grinning back at Lucia.
He dropped her hand to open the door for her, and then grabbed it again once they were outside to pull her toward an alley across the street. "It's a shortcut," he said.
They alley soon let out on a winding residential street, and Lorcan seemed content to stroll, dropping Lucia's hand so he could put his hands in his pockets and imitate the most casual carefree ambler imaginable -- though it was only an imitation, his gaze was too active and interested for true ambling.
He glance sidelong at Lucia and asked, "Have you had a good day?"
