Taking another drink of her butterbeer, Lucia listened quietly as the crowd flowed around her. The professors had all seemed rather prim and proper at school; it was hard to imagine they would condone a party like this happening every year, let alone becoming a part of it.
Setting her drink down, Lucia felt a grin stretch across her face as Lorcan appeared next to her. "It seems so. I never imagined there could be this many sloshed professionals in one place." she said, laughing under her breath.
"Staying? I thought we agreed tha- oh!" Stifling her confused ramblings as she followed Lorcan's gaze, Lucia shook her head with an amused grin. "No, no, I'm not staying. I just thought it would take a while for you to get her and find me in all... this." she said, motioning to the crowd that was now cheering on a wobbly man as he tried to jig across the bar.
Standing up, she took one last sip of her half-empty drink and left a sickle on the table. A warm aftertaste followed the drink down, leaving a trail of weightlessness that flowed down to her toes. Grabbing Lorcan's hand in her own, she began to make her way through the crowd and towards the door. It was a beautiful night, and she didn't want to waste it.
