Oh, right. Passing strangers didn't stick around while someone else was being treated by a healer. Especially if they looked so self-conscious about it. If Corrie was afraid that someone would think he and she were together, she was definitely doing everything she could to combat the notion. Lorcan turned away politely.
On the other hand, passing strangers probably didn't make entirely new rooms in other people's houses just so that they could get away from the healer. And he sort of wanted to hear what the healer had to say, just in case it was something important, like don't move for five days, because if he didn't hear it, he wasn't sure Corrie would pay attention.
So he sat down at the table facing the other way and started eating fish and chips -- quietly, while listening for the healer. That was probably rude, since Corrie had expressed an interest in eating, but it was that or fall asleep, and he didn't think passing strangers fell asleep at other people's houses while they were being treated by a healer either.
