Lorcan's gaze dropped to the nearest hand, but it looked fine. Corrie's other hand was out of Lorcan's sight, but he didn't want to move her or ask her to move before she was ready, so he scrambled around her, asking as he went, "Can you move your hand? Can you move your toes?"
There was blood all over Corrie's hand. His breath caught, but he thought hand injuries probably bled a lot, so it might not be as bad as it looked. He hoped it wasn't as bad as it looked. When he bent in closer, he could see some uninjured skin, and--
Ever so gently, Lorcan reached in and touched something that had embedded itself in Corrie's hand. Under the blood, it felt like a large splinter of wood. He could see a few others, some that might be even larger, in Corrie's hand. He glanced around and caught sight of a bit of wood lying to the side that looked like the base of her wand, and some other large splinters of wood. And following that path, a large charred cavity on the wall. Luckily for Corrie, it looked like the force of the explosion had been directed where her wand had been pointing, and the explosion had just thrown her back. But as for the wand...
"I don't think you're going to bleed to death, but I think I'm going to need to use magic to sterilize a bandage," Lorcan said, his voice a little shaky. That charred area was scary. He didn't mention her wand, not yet.
