Lorcan winced at what the boggart said, but slowed down in throwing things. That was only because he was running out of pieces of bedframe to throw; there were only so many loose rods and knobs. Taking a bit more time at it made him more accurate, however, though trying to hit the boggart McCormack still seemed a bit futile.
The dress made him burst out laughing as well -- anyone would look ridiculous in a dress like that -- and since laughing was the point, he gave up on throwing to concentrate on laughing. After all the tension of the evening, the laughter came quickly and easily, with absolute sincerity.
But his laughter stopped abruptly when Corrie went crashing backward, and he scrambled to his feet to run over to her. "Are you--" But that was a stupid question. "Where does it hurt?" Was she bleeding?
