Corrie shook her head. Minifred, Winifred - it was completely different. She hadn't raised Winifred, or known her nearly as well. She hadn't even lived there. Winifred was less to her, a lovely house, a place with wonderful memories attached, but nothing compared to Min herself.
Maybe it would be different if she did make her own Min. If she could manage the magic alone, and raising her, and-
No. Even if she could, she didn't want to make and raise a house alone, remembering what it had been like the first time.
She wanted to go home, to her solid flat with boring, unchangeable walls. There was no way she was going in to work after all of this - she needed to hide in her room, with the strongest soundproofing charms she could manage. Surrounded by silence.
"Okay," she managed, and spread the fingers of her right hand out on Min's wall, between her window and the stained glass one next to it. She spread them as far as they could go, in a possible goodbye, and looked out the window one last time before closing her eyes and apparating back to her flat.
