"You didn't even know that wasn't me?!" Hestia spluttered convincingly, looking properly offended.
"I didn't see the impostor, or I'd have known!" Miles said, half smug assurance, half indignation, but wasn't able to continue his recitation of his superior skills over Ernie as a disturbance outside distracted him.
The gruff order from outside put Miles into action as he opened the door, verified the man was Moody and then let him in so the old Auror could see what all the shouting was about. Once again, Hestia briefly related what was going on to her old mentor, knowing he above anyone would would be sympathetic. In return, he related that the Death Eaters downstairs were subdued and due to be taken off soon to set up the next stage of their plan, one he wanted Hestia out of the house before it started, despite her heated protests of wanting to face her jailers downstairs.
In a flurry of orders, Hestia's wand was retrieved for her and duties reassigned to free both Ernie and Miles to take Hestia back to the Ministry to brief Kingsley.
