Not realizing he had noticed the journal, Hestia simply thought he meant the copy she was holding. Though she would have liked to keep that from him as well, she knew he needed to at least see what had been said. It didn't mean he needed his journal back, though, and she wouldn't be giving that back until she was certain he wouldn't write in it.
"This is a copy of what she wrote," she said, unfolding her arms to hold out the parchment to him. Though it was offered, she still held it firmly, a slight resistance to him taking ti from her, but not an unstoppable one.
