Carina was not about to be left behind, not when these people were keeping her from her father. "No, I don't have to trust you. I don't and I won't and I want to go back now, take me back right now," she demanded, stalking after them. "You are both being very mean and Papa will be very upset with you and so will Tante Cissa and do you want Tante Cissa mad at you? I would not want her mad at me and I think you are both very stupid if you want to make my Papa and Tante Cissa angry."
The temptation to toss the child into a Floo bound for the very place she wanted to be was great, but Rodolphus knew that was a temptation born only by the outrageousness of this child. "[For the last time, be quiet]!" he roared again and not but a moment later, Carina's bow-shaped pink lips smacked shut, as if held by an invisible force. This did not make her happy, and though she could not speak full words, she continued to rant and rage, as well as resume crying, even through her muffled state.
That done, Rodolphus spun on his heel and moved out into the corridor, slamming and holding shut the door behind them.
