Interesting was only the half of it and if tradition served any indication, the families would appoint Cole Magistratus without question. The position would no longer be just temporary and for some reason the others bowed down to the Grey’s as if they owned the Manor. It was quite sickening to watch the conjurer’s whimsical display of man-child antics with every female that crossed his path. Emma would not follow suit.
“I’m simply looking forward to the day when he realizes just exactly what he’s gotten himself into.”
If they wanted to make him Magistratus fine, whatever. It was bound to happen anyway so why make a fuss unless someone else forced her hand? The current Heads of family would eventually have to hold Conclave and when they did Emma intended to listen and speak when she felt a need to. She was more interested in observing everyone’s actions without them realizing just exactly what was going on.
“Dealing with trivial family politics is not my idea of fun. Do you intend to challenge him?”
The enchantress hoped someone decided to or else the upcoming meeting would be a serious bore for the brunette. Desi always could pierce his way past the bullshit and she wasn’t surprised. He was an illusionist and illusions are what they did best. Despite his attuned senses, Emma decided to play dumb as she plastered on a pretty little smile for his benefit.
“I have no inkling of what you mean.”
The sing song nature of her voice was obvious as her hand lightly grazed his side absently. She didn’t seem to care where he put his hands as he was one of the few people who could get away with it.
“No, illicit den of delights? Such a shame.”
Desi had always been a man of the finer things in life, much like she was despite the fact that Emma always appeared to be the image of perfection. Deep down another side lingered and the illusionist knew all too well what secrets were hidden in that pretty little head of hers. She was no angel and he knew it.
“Enchantments? Of course we do.”
She followed him inside the building as they were greeted by shadows. The room was dark, despite the fact that the building appeared to have windows from the outside. The kind of enchantments he was requesting would be a piece of cake for her.
“I even have one in particular you’ll find great amusement in that will work very nicely.”
