THE LIBRARY - Cody & Elizabeth
Catching up with Cassidy had been really good, nice to see a familiar face and one that he felt comfortable around but after she'd wandered off Cody had found himself a little aimless. Where better to stretch his legs then in the direction of the libary, especially one attached to the manor. There had to be a ton of books with a lot of information in them and he'd always balanced magic with knowledge that was just how he was, he liked to be well informed and make decisions based on what was possible instead of what could happen.
Despite his height and broad shoulders Cody moved quietly so he didn't make a lot of noise as he entered the library, the tips of his fingers moving over the spines of the books as he tried to determine which one to read. Choice, sometimes a difficult thing to figure out, especially if you had too much of it. Not always a blessing.
It was as he pulled out a fairly big book on the history of magic that he became acutely aware that he wasn't alone. Cody turned his head and his eyes came to settle on a young girl who he knew almost instantly was a member of the Cain family given her clothing and jewelry choice. They'd always been the alternative family, the ones who didn't quite fit, and the ones people were wary around. They did deal with Necromancy after all, not many people were very comfortable around that kind of magic.
But they were all in this together, for better or worse, and Cody, well he wanted to get a feel of the other families to understand if his misgivings about them was correct or steeped somewhere in the mix of paranoia and irrationality.
"That's a pretty grim book you're reading," he remarked as he glanced up at her from where his eyes had started to read and take in the first few lines of his own book.
