Painting the Memories Away Date: September 5, 2015 Time: Afternoon Location: Gardens around the manor Characters: Lucia Vargas and Jake Byrnes Description: Painting away memories and making new ones Status/Rating: Closed; Incomplete/ PG-13
It wasn't until Lucia faced all the troubling things going on in her life a year ago that her paintings started selling. The raw pain and emotion showcased on her canvases was undeniable and yet so overwhelming that it had been hard to part with her work. She supposed that some people could and would understand the true pain in her work, but they'd never understand how it all had happened and why. Hell, she didn't even know why either sometimes.
However, ever since 'the dark ages', as she calls it, she'd been showcased at a few galleries. Lucia's works were being purchased at a fast rate and while a part of her wanted to paint so that everyone could enjoy her work, she also didn't want to flood the market with her work and dilute the emotions expressed in her work. Taking her time, she painted with pure passion for every feeling she was trying to express.
Working with blues and blacks, Lucia threw in a few specks of gold-ish brown and white in her self-portrait of sorts. It was dark and moving and showed exactly how she felt when she let herself think about the past. She had come out to the gardens to paint something less sad and depressed, but found that her brush went where it wanted. Taking a step back, she sighed heavily and looked at her painting. She needed to stop for a bit so that she could have new eyes when she looked at it again. Perhaps then she'd be completely happy with it.
