Cole idly flipped the flashlight in his hand, catching it on the spin, and repeating again as he waited for the Necromancer to turn up. THe local gossip mill, such as it was, had been in full flow for a while now about the strange goings-on at Calvary Cemetery, and even a few of the local freesheets had picked the story up.
Hauntings made for funky headlines, of course, but Cole had a feeling that this was a little more shadowkind than Samhain. Something about it just didn't quite sit right with him - reports of strange lights, noises, and small animals disappearing, they all pointed to predatory behaviour of some variety.
As such, he'd asked Mina for some assistance from Necromancy, the place being a graveyard, and just in case there were ghosts. Not that he believed that there were, but he'd been around magic and all the peculiarities that this world had to offer enough to not discount anything out of hand.
He sighed and glanced up at the sky, where the moon shone thinly through the cloud that had blanketed Seattle all day. This place sure liked to be overcast, ad not for the first time, he felt a pang of longing for Texas and its blistering summers. He was even beginning to lose the tan on his skin, living as he did in a place where the sky seemed permanently bruised with cloud cover, and pregnant with the possibility of rain.
He glanced at his watch - Mina had told him to expect Julian around this time. Cole just wanted it done. Between navigating Peyton, Alex and Chloe, not to mention everything else, the stress was beginning to takes its toll on his ability to sleep. He felt like he was walking through treacle most days, and this was no exception.
It was showing, too. His trademark jeans were tired and worn, his chequered shirt a little rumpled. He didn't so much have a five o'clock shadow as a few days of full growth, and his cowboy boots were scuffed. He looked like a bit of a mess, frankly, and he quietly resolved to do something about it when he got home.
Or sooner - who knew, maybe the stories were just that. He grunted in amusement to himself. Yeah, he wasn't going to get that lucky.
