“You are a complete reprobate, did you know that?”
The enchantress headed over towards the window to look out at the trees. While she was in perfect shape, Emma did not look forward to traipsing through the dense woods—especially at night. Her feet would most likely never forgive her. She was used to London—big cities. Her Estate was surrounded by open fields and extensive grounds, but they were maintained and cared for by those they employed. This though was untamed wilderness.
“Changed? I’m ready whenever you are.”
She patted the side of her jeans where the tiny bag resided as she allowed him to do whatever it was he needed to do. Emma wasn’t going to turn around and see if he was changing—she refused to satisfy any curiosity or even acknowledge that she was.
“In my pocket.”
That was one of the benefits to being an enchanter. They could command, charm, and lure just about anyone and anything. In this particular case, Emma had taken all the items on the list, placed them in a bag, and shrunk it down to the size of a small die. It made traveling much more convenient and if she had they had, Cole should be able to conjurer anything else they required. Of course that would have been the easier of the two. He probably just wanted to see her confusion and puzzlement over a few choice items on the list.
“I personally don’t see how a sheer negligee would help either of us in the middle of that thick mass, so I decided to leave that home. Hope you don’t mind.”
She threw a smile his way as she gazed out the window. The forest was thick and vast and supposedly would take a few days journey to cross the entire thing from any direction. Hiking was certainly not her choice of a pastime, but it was the only way they could get there without setting off any alarms. Her ancestors weren’t stupid. A conjurer could teleport themselves and others anywhere their heart’s desired, but of course when they tried to do just that, Cole found himself quite inept. Yes, they had been clever and because of the wards surrounding the tomb, Emma would have to actually walk that distance. Any wards could only be removed on site which is why she had to go along with him.
