Tomb Raidin' Date: August 25. 2015 Time: 12:03 PM Location: Okanogan-Wenatchee National Forest Characters: Cole Gray, Emma Ward Description: Robbin' some folk. Dead folk. Status/Rating: Private, in progress, R.
They'd driven out earlier this morning, making the two-hour ride to the last outpost of civilisation before the great wilderness of the national forest. He'd found out about their destination a few days before, while researching family histories in the library.
It had caught his eye, a brief mention of an item, tied to Enchantment, thought lost for decades. Centuries, even. But, it had turned out, it hadn't really been lost at all, just buried with an elder Arcanist all those generations back, until it had passed from common memory.
He pulled the truck into the resort's parking lot, and killed the engine, giving himself a moment to relax before he stepped out of the car. The ride hadn't been long - nothing like their move from Texas not one month ago - but it had required concentration. These paths weren't designed to be used by cars, and tended, he was told, to have all kinds of bumps and obstacles that could catch someone out if they weren't paying attention.
"You good?" He asked his companion, the eldest Ward, whom he was kind of amazed he'd been able to convince to come. She didn't strike him as the outdoors type.
"Let's check in, and then we can get ready for the hike."
Their destination was miles into the forest, marked on a map with clues as to how to get there. Personally, Cole thought this was exciting. A real tomb! He was, essentially, Indiana Jones.
