Falling into silence, Ally found it hard to believe that the outcome of her discretions would be nothing at all, no matter how hopeful she might be that that might be the case. She half wondered when her family were going to give up on trying to make her the perfect little Emma clone, or whatever it was they wanted her to be that she quite clearly wasn't. There was no way she was ever going to be able to meet the high standards her sister set and she didn't want to. Even when she tried hard to do the right thing, it was never noticed or appreciated so she'd learned pretty quickly not to bother.
Once they stopped outside the cinema, Ally looked up at it with a weird mix of excitement and apprehension. Unbuckling her seatbelt, she was quick to hop out of the car, pushing the door shut behind her, hands slipping into the pockets of her jeans. She didn't wait for Aloysius to follow as she knew he wouldn't be far behind so she headed into the cinema, the large foyer smelling like popcorn and hot dogs which was a really weird combination.
The board flashed over the ticket counter that told her what movies were playing, they had good timing: there was a showing of The Muppets starting in about forty minutes which gave them enough time to sneak around inside the theatre to do what it was they needed to. The more she thought about it, the more fun it seemed to actually try and put some scenes into the film by messing with the reel but she didn't know how to do that.
Turning her head to grin at her brother, she pulled a five pound note from her pocket and asked, "I'm gonna grab us some popcorn, salted or sweet?"
